Post Install Tips for KatManDo
Congratulations on installing KatManDo! Here are important tips and best practices to ensure you get the most out of your integration between Google Sheets and Salesforce.
Reconnect After Installation
If you installed KatManDo for the first time or performed an update, make sure to:
- Open Google Sheets.
- Navigate to Extensions → KatManDo → Start.
- Click Login to Salesforce to authenticate your Salesforce session.
- Ensure that the Task Pane refreshes to show all available options:
- Export from Salesforce → Fetch data from Salesforce directly into your Google Sheet.
- Import into Salesforce → Upload data from your Google Sheet into Salesforce.
- Logout → Disconnect your current Salesforce session.
- Go to Org → Opens your connected Salesforce Org in a new browser tab for easy navigation.
Check Permissions
KatManDo requires specific permissions to function properly. Ensure these are accepted during installation for a smooth experience.

Customize Your Experience
KatManDo allows for various customizations to improve your workflow:
- Navigate to Settings → Customize KatManDo within the Task Pane to set:
- Default Export Limits → Control the number of records fetched during export.
- Field Mappings → Save frequently used mappings for quicker imports.
- Theme Options → Switch between light and dark modes for better visibility.
- You can also:
- Save Query Editor Configurations → Reuse complex SOQL queries for future exports.
- Auto-map Fields → KatManDo can auto-map Google Sheet headers to Salesforce fields when importing.
Managing Sessions
To keep your data secure and sessions organized:
- Logout → Instantly disconnects your Salesforce session. You will need to log in again for access.
- Go to Org → Click to open your connected Salesforce Org in a new browser tab for quick navigation.
- Session Timeout → If your session times out, simply click Login to Salesforce again to re-authenticate.
Post Install Actions
1. Data Validation
- After the first install, perform a quick Export to ensure connection with Salesforce is working.
- Verify the data in Google Sheets matches what you see in Salesforce.
2. Sandbox vs Production
- Ensure you are logged into the correct Salesforce environment (Sandbox or Production).
