Getting Started with KatManDo

Quick setup guide to get you started with KatManDo, the powerful Google Sheets Add-On for Salesforce data management.

📌 Installing the Add-On

Follow these steps to install KatManDo:

  • Open Google Sheets from your Google Workspace.
  • Navigate to Extensions → Add-ons → Get add-ons.
  • Search for KatManDo and click Install.
  • Accept permissions and complete the installation.
  • KatManDo will now be visible under Extensions in your toolbar.

🚀 Starting KatManDo

To begin using KatManDo after installation:

  • Go to Extensions → KatManDo → Start.
  • A Task Pane will appear on the right side of your sheet.
  • Initially, only the Login to Salesforce button is available for secure connection.

🔒 Authenticating with Salesforce

Connect securely to your Salesforce organization:

  • Click Login to Salesforce in the Task Pane.
  • Authenticate with your Salesforce credentials and allow access.
  • On success, the Task Pane will display more options:

Available Options After Login

  • Export from Salesforce → Fetch data from Salesforce directly into your Google Sheet.
  • Import into Salesforce → Upload data from your Google Sheet into Salesforce.
  • Logout → Disconnect your current Salesforce session.
  • Go to Org → Opens your connected Salesforce Org in a new browser tab for easy navigation.

📤 Export from Salesforce

Retrieve data from Salesforce into your Google Sheet:

Export Steps

  • Select the Salesforce Object you want to export (e.g., Product, Account).
  • Choose the Fields you want to retrieve.
  • Optionally set a Limit for the number of records.
  • Advanced users can access the Query Editor for SOQL queries.
  • Click Export to fetch data directly into Google Sheets.

📥 Import into Salesforce

Send data from your Google Sheet to Salesforce:

Import Steps

  • Prepare your Google Sheet with headers representing Salesforce fields.
  • Select the Object in the Task Pane.
  • Map your column headers to Salesforce fields.
  • Click Import to send data to Salesforce.
  • Successful imports will display a confirmation message.

Efficiently manage your KatManDo sessions:

  • Logout → Instantly disconnect from Salesforce.
  • Go to Org → Opens the connected Salesforce Org in a new tab.
  • Export from Salesforce → Retrieve data from Salesforce objects.
  • Import into Salesforce → Upload data to Salesforce objects.

🔄 Reconnect After Installation

If you installed KatManDo for the first time or performed an update, make sure to:

  1. Open Google Sheets.
  2. Navigate to Extensions → KatManDo → Start.
  3. Click Login to Salesforce to authenticate your Salesforce session.
  4. Ensure that the Task Pane refreshes to show all available options:
  • Export from Salesforce → Fetch data from Salesforce directly into your Google Sheet.
  • Import into Salesforce → Upload data from your Google Sheet into Salesforce.
  • Logout → Disconnect your current Salesforce session.

🚀 Customize Your Experience

KatManDo allows for various customizations to improve your workflow:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Customize KatManDo within the Task Pane to set:
  • Default Export Limits → Control the number of records fetched during export.
  • Field Mappings → Save frequently used mappings for quicker imports.
  • Theme Options → Switch between light and dark modes for better visibility.

  • Save Query Editor Configurations → Reuse complex SOQL queries for future exports.
  • Auto-map Fields → KatManDo can auto-map Google Sheet headers to Salesforce fields when importing.
